Generation is the last step, not the first
Marco is my autonomous outbound agent. The visible feature is personalized copy, but copy is one of the last things the system produces.
Marco first builds and monitors the sending layer: secondary domains, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, mailboxes, warm-up, placement tests, per-mailbox caps, and reputation checks. No campaign launches until the senders clear those gates.
A strong message that lands in spam is a failed system. An accurate document that reads the wrong source is the same kind of failure. In both cases, the generated text is not the product. The controlled pipeline around it is.
Signals decide who and when
Most outbound systems start with a list of titles. Marco looks for a change in the company: leadership moves, hiring, funding, website intent, new permits, or another event that creates a reason to talk now.
It collects prospects from commercial databases, LinkedIn, company sites, job boards, industry directories, and public or first-party data. It scores and deduplicates them before research begins.
That sequencing matters. Research is expensive. Personalization is wasted when the target is wrong or the timing is weak. Marco spends depth only after a signal earns it.
Research decides what the system is allowed to say
Marco researches the company, writes a short message in the sender's voice, and runs email and LinkedIn sequences. Every 15 minutes it triages replies and flags positive intent in Telegram.
But factual claims, pricing, and objections stay behind human approval. The system can do persistent work at volume. It does not get authority to invent facts or commit the business.
This is the same control pattern I use for document workflows. Separate extraction from interpretation. Separate a draft from an approved result. Make the boundary explicit.
The control plane is the real product
The agent is the part people screenshot. The control plane is what makes it safe to operate: sender health, source provenance, written rules, approval states, and an event log.
Without that layer, autonomy becomes faster drift. With it, a human operator no longer has to choose between depth and volume.
Signals decide who and when. Research decides what to say. Infrastructure decides whether any of it arrives.
